If you’ve installed a new updated version on top of a previous version, you may need to perform a plug-in re-scan in your DAW to update the plug-in parameter list.

Some DAWs (e.g. Motu Digital Performer) require a full snapshot of the plug-in in order to list the parameters correctly.

Consult the DAW user manual to find out the procedure for a plug-in re-scan, this procedure may be necessary to perform in DAWs using the AU as well as the VST versions of our software.

How to setup IRCAM Tools HEar in 5.1 in Digital Performer.

  1. Create six mono audio tracks and one aux track.
  2. Set the outputs of each mono audio track to Bus 1-6, respectively.
  3. Set the input of the aux track to Bus 1-6.
  4. Set the output of the aux track to a 5.1 surround bundle where the first two outputs are the ones you are monitoring from (i.e. headphones)
  5. Insert the AU plugin on the aux track.

This setup will feed the outputs of each audio track into the plugin on the aux. The plugin will then output a stereo track, which is sent to the first two outputs of the surround output bundle.

To create a surround bundle (which you will need to do for bus 1-6 and your 5.1 output bundle) go to the Bundles window. Select the Outputs tab. Click the “add” button. This will create a new bundle. Select the dropdown menu in the ‘Model’ column to set the bundle to 5.1.

The FLUX:: Analyzer Essential / FLUX:: Session Analyzer is a stand-alone application and not a plugin.

It is using a plugin, called SampleGrabber, to broadcast the audio data from the DAW or Host software to the stand-alone application, either on the same computer, localhost, or over the network using a different computer for the Analyzer stand-alone application.

You can read more about this in the FLUX:: Analyzer User Manual (online).

When installing any of the Flux:: stand-alone applications, such as the FLUX:: Analyzer Essential / FLUX:: Session Analyzer, shortcuts can be created by enabling this option under Global Options in Flux:: Center.

On MacOS, the shortcuts are added to the dock; on Windows, the shortcuts are created on the desktop.

When the FLUX:: Analyzer application is installed, the SampleGrabber plug-in will be installed automatically if any of the  AU / VST / AAX plug-in formats are enabled in FLUX:: Center preferences “Install Options“.

How To download and install software using Flux:: Center
