On windows, if you experience that Flux:: Center is only displaying an empty black window when you start up Center, there may be an issue with a graphic card driver that needs to be updated.

Try installing the latest available driver for the graphic card (or chipset), normally found directly on the AMD or NVidia website, and sometimes on the computer manufacturer’s website (more commonly for laptop and other computers built together with the screen).

The generic graphic driver installed with windows is not supporting OpenGL 2.0, which is required by Flux:: Center, and by all our software, on both macOS and Windows, as all our software uses advanced 3D-graphics for the graphical user interface, enhancing the usability and the workflow in the software.

All Flux:: plugins can be setup for batch processing using MrsWatson, a command-line audio plugin host supporting VST 2.x plugins.

  • First you need to create a user preset in the Flux:: plug-in preset manager (not the host preset manager) that you want to use for the batch processing, this can be done using your favorite audio host software.

  • In the Flux:: plug-in preset manager (not the host preset manager), navigate to the User preset tab, select the preset, then click “Set as default”.

  • Then close your audio host application.

How to setup a proper command line:

1 – Enter the mrswatson64 application path.
You can drag the application directly into the command or terminal window (then you don’t have to type the path manually).

Exemple in Windows:
     C:\Users\myusername\Desktop\MrsWatson\MrsWatson-0.9.7\Windows\mrswatson64.exe

Exemple in macOS:

     /Users/myusername/Desktop/MrsWatson-0.9.7Mac\ OS\ X/mrswatson64

2 – Indicate the Flux VST 64-bit install path

Exemple in Windows:

–plugin-root “c:\Program Files\Vstplugins\Flux\LevelMagic.vst\Contents\x64”

Exemple in macOS:

–plugin-root /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST/Flux

3 – Indicate the input file path for the file you want to process.

Exemple in Windows:

-i C:\Users\myusername\Desktop\myaudiofile.wav

Exemple in macOS:

-i /Users/myusername/Desktop/myaudiofile.wav

4 – Indicate the output file path for the processed file.

Exemple in Windows:

-o C:\Users\myusername\Desktop\out.wav

Exemple in macOS:

-o /Users/myusername/Desktop/out.wav

5 – Indicate the plugin(s) to be used.

Exemple in Windows:

-p LevelMagic

Exemple in macOS:

-p LevelMagic-x64

6 – In the end, the full command line will look like this:

Exemple in Windows :

C:\Users\myusername\Desktop\MrsWatson\MrsWatson-0.9.7\Windows\mrswatson64.exe –plugin-root “c:\Program Files\Vstplugins\Flux\LevelMagic.vst\Contents\x64” -i C:\Users\myusername\Desktop\myaudiofile.wav -o C:\Users\myusername\Desktop\out.wav -p LevelMagic

Exemple in macOS:

/Users/myusername/Desktop/MrsWatson-0.9.7Mac\ OS\ X/mrswatson64 –plugin-root /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST/Flux -i /Users/myusername/Desktop/myaudiofile.wav -o /Users/myusername/Desktop/out.wav -p LevelMagic-x64

7 – Type return key and wait for the processing to end.

Applies to: Alchemist, Solera and the Pure Series Dynamics Processors

The Dynamic Factor and Dynamic Velocity parameters will impact the detection of signal dynamics. These settings comes in handy when the signal to be processed has:

  • Too much dynamics – You can choose a value of the Dynamic Factor that is smaller than 1, to limit the ‘pumping’ effect of the compressor, as an example.
  • Too little dynamics – The threshold can become difficult to adjust, for an expander / gate, as an example, conversely, a value greater than 1 will be chosen.

The Dynamic Velocity will play on the speed of the detection and refine the setting.

These parameters work for all modes. and will be common to the 4 modules comp / dcomp / exp / dexp, and are intended when trying to solve certain special cases of dynamics.
