The install process starts by asking to your macos admin password, and should take from a couple of seconds to a couple of minutes, depending on the amount of products you install and your HD/SSD performances.

If for some reason you are not prompted to enter the admin password and you are stuck to this screen during the install process :

Ensure that the macos dialog asking for your admin password is not hidden in the background

If it is not, here is a workaround to end the install properly.

  • Keep the Flux:: Center opened, stuck on the ‘please wait’ message
  • Open a macos terminal window (/Applications/Utilities/Terminal), paste this command line and hit enter (you’ll be prompted to enter your admin password)

sudo sh /Applications/FluxCenter.app/Contents/Cache/center.sh

The install should pass properly then.

On some computers when using NVIDIA graphics cards, you may encouter issues with white GUIs or crashes in certain DAWs.

As Flux:: plugins require OpenGL 2.0 to work, you may have to allow or force your DAW to use your Nvidia graphics instead of using the onboard intel graphics chipset.

To do this, open the NVidia Control Panel, under 3D Settings, click Manage 3D Settings, then Under Global Settings, change the Auto-selection to High-Performance NVIDIA processor, as a preferred graphics processor, and then click Apply.

This should fix the issues and make the DAW and the plugins work as expected.

After a Time Machine file restores in macOS you may encounter this activation error, even if the license is properly activated in the iLok License Manager software.

How to fix this:

You MUST first be logged in as a user with administrator access, (if you only have one user/login on your Mac, then your account will have administrator access).

Open a macOS terminal:

/Applications/Utilities/Terminal.app

then copy this command into the command line and press Return:

sudo /Library/PrivilegedHelperTools/licenseDaemon.app/Contents/Resources/licensed_unload.sh

You will now be prompted to enter your macOS current user session.

This should activate your product license properly and fix the problem.

The v3 versions and the v2, or any previous non-v3, versions, are identified as different products in the DAW/Host software. This means that when the v3 version of a plug-in is installed, it will co-exist in parallel with any previously installed version, and will NOT replace the previous version of the plug-in.

All previous non-v3 versions are 32-bit only and will only work in DAW/Host software supporting 32-bit plug-ins. If the host software is no longer supporting 32-bits, as with Pro Tools when it’s updated from PT10 (32-bits AAX) to PT12 (only 64-bit AAX), the previous non-v3 versions can’t be used with the DAW/Host anymore.

To maintain backward compatibility with older sessions, a 32-bit compatible version of the DAW/Host is required, and it may be a really good idea to keep this installed in parallel with the newer 64-bit compatible version. We don’t advise the use of VST-bridge software for loading 32-bit plugins into 64-bit software.

Using the plug-in’s built-in preset manager (not the DAW/Host preset manager) all saved presets can be exported from the previous non-v3 version to a preset file, which can then be imported into the v3 version of the plug-in.

Please note that all pre v3 versions are no longer supported and we recommend, if possible, upgrading to the v3 version, and when doing so, if required, assuring backward compatibility with older sessions as stated above.

All Flux:: plugin licenses are valid for the v3 version of our products, to upgrade to the v3 version, simply install the latest version from the Flux:: Center.

Please note that the v3 version no longer supports the Flux:: dongle (discontinued 2018/19), instead your licenses will be transferred to your iLok account, free of charge, on your request. To request this transfer, please contact us with your iLok User Account ID, and your Flux:: dongle serial number, and we will initiate the license transfer.

If you experience that FLUX:: Center is only displaying an empty black window when you start up Center, there may be an issue with a graphic card driver that needs to be updated.

Try installing the latest available driver for the graphic card (or chipset), normally found directly on the AMD or NVidia website, and sometimes on the computer manufacturer’s website (more commonly for laptop and other computers built together with the screen).

The generic graphic driver installed with windows is not supporting OpenGL 2.0, which is required by FLUX:: Center, and by all our software, on both macOS and Windows, as all our software uses advanced 3D-graphics for the graphical user interface, enhancing the usability and the workflow in the software.

Windows – Moving a VST plug-in file to another folder

On windows, FLUX:: Center offers the options to customize the plugins install path (depending on the plugin format) If you for some reason change the installation path, make sure you point the installer to a VST plug-in folder that is scanned by your DAW software or else your DAW won’t find the plug-ins.

If for some reason you want to move your VST plug-in files to another location in your file system after they’re installed, do NOT try moving the files manually in the file system, as this will cause inconsistent behaviors as the plug-ins then may not find the resource files they need in order to work correctly. Instead uninstall the plug-ins you want to move, change the plug-in path in Flux:: Center preferences, then re-install them.

Should the case be that you’ve already moved your plug-in .dll files manually, you will experience problems with your VST plug-ins. (plugin crash, or black/white GUI, etc…) To resolve this, open FLUX:: Center, uninstall the plug-ins, remove any files that were moved manually and hence not removed in the uninstallation, change the plug-in path in FLUX:: Center preferences, then re-install them.

When the FLUX:: Analyzer Essential or FLUX:: Session Analyzer stand-alone application is installed, the SampleGrabber plug-in will automatically be installed in any of the  AU / VST / AAX plug-in formats are enabled for install in Center Preferences Install Options.

When installing a stand-alone Application in Flux:: Center, shortcuts can be created by enabling this option under Global Options, and in Windows, the shortcut is normally then created on the desktop. Currently, there’s a known bug in Windows 7, and the shortcuts are sometimes not created even though this option is enabled in Flux:: Center.

Flux::Center installs only 64-bit version applications when running Windows 64-bit and 32-bit applications when running Windows 32-bit.     After the installation, the stand-alone application files can be found here:

FLUX:: Analyzer Essential 64-bit C:\Program Files\Flux\FluxTAnalyzer.app\Contents\x64\FluxTAnalyzer-x64.exe

FLUX:: Analyzer Essential 32-bit C:\Program Files\Flux\FluxTAnalyzer.app\Contents\win32\FluxTAnalyzer-x86.exe

FLUX:: Session Analyzer 64-bit C:\Program Files\Flux\Studio Session Analyzer.app\Contents\x64\Studio Session Analyzer-x64.exe

FLUX:: Session Analyzer 32-bit C:\Program Files\Flux\Studio Session Analyzer.app\Contents\win32\Studio Session Analyzer-x86.exe

When running a DAW software using the VST version of the Flux:: plugins (Cubase, Nuendo, Sonar etc.), and the plugins can’t be found find in the DAW after the installation, there may be a problem with the plug-in scanning in the DAW after installing the plug-ins.

Please follow these steps to perform a plug-in re-scan:

  • Open Preferences/Settings in the DAW software and locate the list of Folders and Paths where the DAW is scanning for VST plug-ins. Please consult the user manual of your DAW for the exact location of this setting.
  • In the settings window, add the locations below as VST plugin file locations to scan:
    • Windows 64-Bit, VST 64-Bit:
      C:\Program Files\Vstplugins\Flux
    • Windows 64-Bit, VST 32-Bit:
      C:\Program Files (x86)\Vstplugins\Flux
    • Windows 32-Bit, VST 32-Bit:
      C:\Program Files\Vstplugins\Flux
    • Mac OS X:
      /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST/Flux
  • After adding these locations, consult the user manual to find out the procedure for a plug-in rescan in the DAW, and perform a re-scan.

Now the installed plugins should be available in the plugin list in the DAW.
